Tips to Organize a Charity Drive

Organizing a charity drive need not mean many sleepless nights and countless hours of putting certain things together. If you are new to this area, it may give off an even more stressful feeling, due to inexperience. Thankfully, with the below tips, you should be able to run a charity drive successfully while keeping your sanity.

1. Determine when and where the charity drive will take place before making any other plans. This is important to pin down, or else it might prove difficult to put together what you need; anybody who will be dropping things off to help out will not know of where to go. When this is figured out, you will be well on your way to a success story.

2. If the focus of your charity drive is not gathering toys, clothes, and other such items, consider using the raffle ticket method. Raffle tickets can add a lot of creativity to the bag, allowing you to design the tickets to your preferences. Because people love the potential to win things, especially if they are contributing to a charity at the same time, your chances of finding participants are high. The item or items chosen to be made available to the winner is up to you.

3. Be very clear about what the proceeds will be used for. If people are kept well informed on exactly where their money will be going and why, they will truly feel like they are part of the process. Who doesn’t like to make a difference, no matter how big or small? You can include this information in a pamphlet to be passed out, or post a sign where you will be selling the raffle tickets.

Taking the time out of your life to assist in the wellbeing of others is a commendable action, one that should not be taken lightly. If you organize your drive in the right way, and do it to the best of your ability, then exceptional things will follow.
