Marketing is all about getting the most people to see your company name or logo, and spending the least amount of money doing it. Of course the artist may decline because that could affect their t-shirt sales, but remember that you are paying for this marketing and offering to compensate the artist for any lost sales may help them change their mind. You could also offer to sponsor the artist’s tour and get on their t-shirts. That would get you on promotional clothing without having the added expense of actually making the clothing.
Sporting events are always open to corporate sponsors, and offering a promotional t-shirt with the home team’s logo on it could be very popular. A sports team would not be as concerned about their t-shirt sales, and many sports teams welcome local corporate sponsors with open arms.
